Bihar Unemployment Allowance Scheme – Update from the Chief Minister

Since the formation of the new government in November 2005, our priority has been to provide government jobs and employment opportunities to as many youth as possible while empowering them with the skills needed to succeed. It is well known that the government has set a target of providing employment to one crore youth over the next five years. In the coming period, a large number of job opportunities will be created in both the government and private sectors. To achieve this goal, youth are being provided with skill development training to help them secure employment.

I am pleased to announce that under the “Saat Nishchay” programs, the previously running Chief Minister Nischay Self-Help Allowance Scheme has now been expanded. Under this updated scheme, benefits that were previously available only to 12th pass youth will now also be extended to graduates in Arts, Science, and Commerce who are unemployed.

Graduates aged 20–25 years who are not pursuing further studies and are actively seeking employment, without any self-employment or current engagement in government, private, or NGO positions, will now receive ₹1,000 per month under the Chief Minister Nischay Self-Help Allowance Scheme for a maximum period of two years.

It is expected that this allowance will be used by the youth to acquire necessary training and prepare for competitive exams, thereby securing their future.

The vision of the state government through this initiative is to empower youth, providing them with the skills and resources to access self-employment and job opportunities effectively.
